How it Works
How it Works
We instill ethical and sustainable practices into the sourcing, construction, and distribution of our clothes, which means a bit of a different purchasing experience for you.
We keep the ethos of our tagline: culture, color, conscience intertwined into all that we do. Our collection is designed in New York by a team of women, sewn in NYC by female-owned production facilities, and beaded in Kenya by female artisans who are paid fair-trade wages. Our collection is then sold by a team of entrepreneurial women to their social networks. You can also buy them right here on our website.
All garments produced already have a buyer, thus reducing both fabric & unsold inventory waste. The final product is a made-to-order, limited edition, ethical & eco garment just for you, our customer.
You see the AA piece of your dreams via a rep, trunk show or our website.
You place your order based on our size chart or trying the garment on (trunk show/rep).
Leave a 50% deposit. You'll pay the remaining balance when your garment is ready.
You patiently wait approximately 2-4 weeks while we meet production minimums, and ethically make your garment.
We alert you that your garment is ready, you pay the last 50% and we ship your limited edition, made just for you garment to your doorstep!
We collect orders over a 5-month sales season, then produce and ship the garments to customers once we sell 5 of any style. We estimate a 2-month wait before you get your garment, made with you in mind.
Investment in Women
We invest in women along our supply chain: female design collaborators, New York City-based, female-owned production facilities, female artisans who bead the collection in India and Kenya, and entrepreneurial women who sell the collection to their social networks.
We source 90% of our fabrics from living-wage supply chain countries like: France, The United Kingdom, Holland, and Italy (as opposed to low wage / low regulation countries like China and Bangladesh). We pay fair-trade wages to female artisans who bead the collection. All garments produced already have a buyer, thus reducing fabric and unsold inventory waste. All leather is vegan leather.
Limited Edition w/ Easy Pay
A maximum of 50, with an average of 10, will be produced per style.
Our payment structure (50% deposit, 50% due upon shipping your garment) is easier on your purse strings, and allows us to pay our female makers up front for their work.
Direct to Customer
A direct to customer relationship means a stronger relationship with our customer, higher wages along our supply chain, and a higher quality product. It also means we can invest in the female micro-entrepreneurs who sell our product.
We value patience, quality and ethical practices over instant gratification and unethical production practices. Our customers align with that value proposition, as they know their limited edition garment is being manufactured especially with them in mind, and will be delivered in time for the season.
